Antique Gold Diamond & Tourmaline Lavalier Necklace
Antique Gold Diamond & Tourmaline Lavalier Necklace
Lavalier necklaces are thought to have been named after the Duchess Louise de La Vallière, the mistress of French King Louis XIV in the mid 17th Century. They have been around for a very long time, but were extremely popular in the late 1800's-early 1900's.
This sweet little lavalier necklace is in such great condition for being from the turn of the century. The top has an old mine cut diamond surrounded by seed pearls and the bottom is a faceted green tourmaline also encased in seed pearls.
The chain is 10k rose gold, 16 3/4 long, and closes with a spring ring clasp.
Such a gorgeous simple statement piece.
