This container is made of fluted glass and has a sterling silver top. The lid is crafted in repousse which is a style of engraving that is made by hammering or pressing on the reverse side.
As is custom, the lid is stamped 'sterling 925' per the assay laws of the time. There is also a maker's mark on either side of the hallmark.
