I have a huge love for ancient treasure and particularly the coinage. This necklace is my homage to those gorgeously detailed ancient coins.
The image on this pendant harkens back to those bygone eras. It features the face in profile of a Roman warrior sporting a helmet.
This piece is fabricated from Metal Clay which is a moldable media that I embossed with the image you see, then fire in a kiln which hardens the clay into .999 pure silver. From there I bond a layer of 14kt gold leaf on the silver in order to give the charm some old world feel and finished up by oxidizing the silver in order to bring out the relief. There are 3 sterling silver balls that have been soldered onto the sides and bottom of this rustic charm.
This lovely charm hangs from an oxidized large link sterling silver chain that measures 19.5” and closes with a hook and eye clasp.
