This stunner of a cocktail ring has a great heft to it and is beautiful to boot.
Center stage is this faceted sage green man made spinel in a rectangle cut. It is set in 10kt yellow gold which perfectly accents the green in the stone. The four corners have prongs that mimic little flowers to ensure safety from bumping. The sides of the setting are double millgrained to give it some visual interest.
Fun Fact-Spinel was recently added to the birthstone list as another option for August in addition to peridot.
Man made spinel was discovered in the 1920's and the green version often serves as a substitute for peridot and tourmaline. That said, I believe this ring hails from the 1940's, the perfect standout piece while sipping your gin rickey.
